Food Processing Tanks in Egypt: Fabrication, Lifting and On-Site Erection for Nile Sugar

The challenge

Process tanks in a food plant have to be sound, clean and correctly positioned so they connect to the plant's piping without rework. The tanks were large-diameter units, so the client needed one supplier for food and beverage equipment fabrication who could build and paint them, then lift, move and set them in place safely at the factory.

Our scope

• Rolling of shell courses and welding of shell, bottom and roof.
• Fabrication of a stiffened steel roof with nozzles and a manhole.
• Caged access ladder and roof handrail.
• Surface preparation and industrial coating.
• Heavy crane lifting of the completed tanks and transport to site.
• On-site erection, positioning and handover at the Nile Sugar factory.

From workshop to foundation

Building the tanks in our workshop meant welding and coating happened in controlled conditions, away from the factory's operations. Our own lifting and erection crews then moved each tank to site and set it on its foundation, so fabrication and erection stayed under one schedule and one responsibility.

The result

The tanks were delivered, erected and handed over at the Nile Sugar factory. For food and beverage producers, the project shows one contractor handling the full path for industrial food processing equipment: fabrication, coating, heavy lift and site erection, with no hand-offs between suppliers.
