What drives the cost of a fabricated storage tank in Egypt
There is no single price for a storage tank. Two tanks of the same nominal capacity can differ by a wide margin once plate grade, design code, coating system, inspection level and erection method are fixed. What a serious buyer needs is not a number pulled from the air, but a transparent breakdown of the items that move the number — and a fabricator who commits to it in writing.
What the scope covers
TARRADCO has fabricated tanks and industrial chimneys from its Alexandria yard since 1985, for petroleum, gas, petrochemical and industrial clients across Egypt. We quote against your datasheet and your inspection and test plan, not against an assumption.
- Shell courses, bottom plates, roof structure and internals fabricated to the agreed design code
- Plate rolling on our heavy rolling line and CNC plate cutting on a 2.5 × 12 m bed
- Submerged-arc welding on an 18 m linear travel station for long seams
- Nozzles, manways, stairways, handrails and access platforms
- Surface preparation to SA 2.5 in our sandblasting chamber, then airless protective coating
- Hydrotest, NDT and a full document dossier released with the tank

What moves the price
The variables we quote against
Design code and service: API 650 atmospheric versus API 620 low-pressure changes the design basis and the weld and inspection scope
Plate grade and thickness, and whether stainless or clad material is required for the stored product
Diameter and height — shell course count drives welding metres more than nominal volume does
Roof type: fixed cone, dome or floating roof, and any internal floating roof
Coating system: internal lining specification is often a larger cost driver than the external paint
Inspection level: percentage of radiography, third-party witness points and the size of the document package
Erection method: shop-fabricated and shipped versus field-erected on your site
Distance from our Alexandria yard to site, and transport of oversized shell sections
